Mermaid MimosaLily Locke is back at her best。 I love how she researches the back story of every situation before she begins to prepare a potion。 It shows her intelligence and understanding of what she needs to make the correct potion。 Lily has a good heart and will do whatever it takes to protect her magical community。 She comes through not only for the mermaid community but also for the entire magical world。 Gina LaManna knows her audience and knows how to keep them wanting to read more of her Mermaid MimosaLily Locke is back at her best。 I love how she researches the back story of every situation before she begins to prepare a potion。 It shows her intelligence and understanding of what she needs to make the correct potion。 Lily has a good heart and will do whatever it takes to protect her magical community。 She comes through not only for the mermaid community but also for the entire magical world。 Gina LaManna knows her audience and knows how to keep them wanting to read more of her books。 There’s adventure, mystery, magic, humor and romance all tied neatly together in one package。 If you just want a fun book to escape with, this is one of those enjoyable reads that just makes you feel better about the world。 。。。more

Well if you're Lily, you take it one potion at a time。 Luckily she has her friends & family to lend help。Obviously because I read this series, I like to read paranormal fiction。 Usually it's vampires, werewolves & witches。 That's why I was so excited about this installment in "the Magic Mixology" series b/c it's Mermaids。 Woo hoo!!!A nice twist on the usual as well as the fact that I haven't come across many stories featuring mermaids。 (I'd recommend "Fred the mermaid" series by Mary Janice Davidson as one of the best)Another one with some cross-over with the characters from "The Sixth Borough" series。 I always enjoy that as I feel like the writer does a tremendous job of making the 2 series companion pieces without sacrificing their individuality。There was lots of suspense, action & surprises along the way。 There was some humor, romance, wonderful characters。 The pace moves quickly so it was an easy, page-turning read。I'm finding this is a common occurrence on many of the latest books in a series that I've read in 2020-2021。 The writer's are really kicking them up a notch!(maybe it's working during a pandemic quarantine) But this book is another example in the trend。LaManna has several series & books so I'm not sure if this was meant to be the last in this series so she can concentrate on others。If that's the case, then this was an excellent way to end a series。 But if it isn't (which would be cool), she did a brilliant job of wrapping things up。 A brilliant addition to the Mixology story!Thank you to the writer for a copy of the ARC in exchange for a review。 。。。more

The Faction, the evil terror group led by Lily's evil father, Lucien who commands armies who use black magic is attacking the Isles on all fronts, land, air and sea。 Can Lily and Ranger X, her love, and all her family and friends from a cross-over series (that is incredible as well) save the Isles and destroy the Faction? Is there a mole on the Isles helping the Faction be successful? What can they do? This is the last book in this series sadly enough, but is it the end of the Isles。 An edge of your seat thrilling ride, you just won't be able to put it down! Gina LaManna is one of my favorite authors and every series she writes is amazing。 I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own。 。。。more

Great Finale First off, this journey has been so well written。 I loved all the characters, they feel like friends。 This installment did not disappoint。 I hope there will be more adventures for Lilly and Ranger X。

There is a lot going on in this story but I enjoyed every moment of it。 The transition from situation to situation will make your head spin a little but that’s ok because it’s the same for the characters。 It is lively and fascinating。

What an amazing instalment。 We left Lily being asked by the beautician mermaid Layla to attend to the mermaid King who had seemingly been poisoned, who would poison him and why? Can Ranger X and Lily have the happy ending they deserve?wow! This is such a rollercoaster, Gina Lamanna knows how to tell a tale。 This has been such a great series, each book has ratcheted up the tension and the drama。 It has been a rollercoaster for sure, she took Lily from the humble beginnings of a human who new nothing about magic, Witches and the paranormal to being the Mixologist, an almost omnipotent witch who has created cocktails for all kinds of escapades, this series along with The Hex files have been some of my favourites to read and they come highly recommended。the tears were real! 。。。more

A wonderful addition to this series。 This one wasn't as dark as the last, which I was glad。 Will be interesting to see where Ms LaManna take it from here。Warning: Make sure to have tissues when you get towards the last 5 or 6 chapters。 Happy or sad tears I won't tell。 Just don't be like me and read them at work。 lol A wonderful addition to this series。 This one wasn't as dark as the last, which I was glad。 Will be interesting to see where Ms LaManna take it from here。Warning: Make sure to have tissues when you get towards the last 5 or 6 chapters。 Happy or sad tears I won't tell。 Just don't be like me and read them at work。 lol 。。。more

What an eventful story。 I'll start by saying you really do need to read the previous books to really understand everything that is going on。 (At least the last few。) There are some characters from other series' by the same author, who make guest appearances, but you do not need to be too familiar with them to follow along。 This book is a high point in the series。 When everything comes to friction with the Fraction (the bad guys。) It affects everyone in the magical world, and not just on The Isle What an eventful story。 I'll start by saying you really do need to read the previous books to really understand everything that is going on。 (At least the last few。) There are some characters from other series' by the same author, who make guest appearances, but you do not need to be too familiar with them to follow along。 This book is a high point in the series。 When everything comes to friction with the Fraction (the bad guys。) It affects everyone in the magical world, and not just on The Isle。。。 hence the guest appearances from those other characters。 There are also a few more emotional moments。 A tear or two may be shed while reading。 (Which is not a common occurrence with the series。) Lily (the Protagonist) is running ragged trying to find ways to help save them all。 All on a very limited timeline。 We also get a tiny look at Ranger X (Lily's boyfriend and head of the Ranger organization,) in a new light that brings a little humor。 ;) All the familiar faces are there in some capacity。 Some are more involved than others。 It's a busy story with lots happening。 No major violence is written, though we know things are happening in the background。 It is clean as far as sexual content。 Safe for teens and up。 It's written strictly from Lily's POV。 。。。more

Misty's Corner Review:I LOVE this series so much; book 8 was exactly what the fans needed to tie up previous storylines and make way for new ones! I devoured this one in less than two days, reading every chance I could! I love Lily’s character as the Isle’s Mixologist and the deep love connections she has with her fiancee Ranger X, her family, friends and really everyone she comes across。 The crossover between LaManna’s magical characters and settings was done in such a way that it felt like a big, end-of-the-world type family reunion where everyone comes together for a greater cause, yet you still feel right there, right at home。I'd recommend starting this series straight from the beginning and enjoying every bit of it! Then, of course, check out her Hex Files series if you're like me and just can't get enough of this magically delicious world! Fans of Janet Evanovich will surely love her writing style! Many thanks to LaManna Books for my gifted copy。 I have honestly and voluntarily reviewed this title。5⭐️Thanks for reading!Misty M。 @MistysCornerReviews——————————————Follow Me:Blog | Facebook | Instagram | TwitterPinterest | GoodReads | BookBub 。。。more
